With the warm weather, we know you’re eager to hit the pool and enjoy all it offers. While the influx creates a vibrant and connected community, it has the potential to result in excessive wear and tear or closures.
Before heading to the indoor and outdoor pool, we’ve provided a few pool-specific guidelines.
Know before you go
- First, read through the Mariposa Resident Agreement and make sure you know the rules.
- Clothing — grab swimsuits for the pool and clothes (tops and bottoms) to cover up your swimsuit for outside the pool area.
- Hair-ties — If you have long hair, be sure to grab a hair tie for swimming. When hair clogs the filters it can cause issues with the pool.
- Bring towels and non-slip shoes —It can get slippery, please dry off before walking inside the amenity.
- There’s no lifeguard on duty, keep an eye on your friends and family.
What to leave at home
- Glass of any kind (including glass lenses)
- Alcohol
- Pets
- Speakers or boomboxes unless using headphones.
- Valuables or anything you don’t want lost or stolen.
- Smoking or vaping devices of any kind.
- Any type of weapon.
Food & drinks
- Food – good-to-go in approved containers (no glass).
- Alcohol – prohibited in the pool area.
- Keep your distance – food and drink must stay 4 feet or more away from the pool edge at all times.
Guests and kids
- Guests – outdoor-6 / indoor-2
- Diapers – prevent accidents. Use reusable diapers and rubber swim pants together.
- Potty Breaks – take bathroom and rest breaks regularly. Check and change diapers during this time as well.
- Age limits – children under 14 must be accompanied by someone 19 years of age or older at all times.
Don't let a code brown shut it down
Kids who aren’t potty trained must wear a swim diaper and rubber pants in the pool. Double protection is highly recommended to avoid accidents.
Don’t forget to take frequent restroom and water breaks!
Keeping things safe
- No lifeguard on duty! Use the pool at your own risk.
- Keep gates closed – no propping gates.
- Please make sure gates latch behind you when you enter and exit.
- Rinse off – before heading into the pool, use the outdoor showers to rinse off any lotions.
- No diving – running, jumping, and horseplay are also prohibited.
Who do you call?
- If you notice anything out of place, damaged, or not functioning properly, please submit a community concern.
- See something suspicious? Report it by calling the Rio Rancho Police Department’s non-emergency line at 505-891-7226. And, of course, if there is an immediate threat of bodily harm or property damage — call 911.
